“On Shaky Ground”: Understanding Seismic Risks Related to Development and Property Ownership in L.A.

Friday, December 13, 2013

We may all acknowledge the threat posed by earthquakes in the Los Angeles region, but have we become too complacent? Are recent stories in the press about unrecognized faults and concrete buildings a wake-up call or an over-reaction? What will be the impact of the new building code which incorporates more stringent seismic requirements? Has seismic knowledge and computer modeling advanced substantially such that we can be smart about how and where we build?

Please join the Westside Urban Forum on Friday, December 13th to hear an expert panel discuss and debate the art and science of seismic analysis, engineering, and design.
