The Westside Urban Forum and
Westside Economic Collaborative are pleased to host a very special conversation
with U.S. Congressman Henry A. Waxman. Rep. Waxman has represented California?s
30th Congressional District, encompassing much of the Westside, since 1974. He
has recently sponsored legislation (H.R. 4653) to lift the federal tunneling
prohibition that had been in place since the 1985 Fairfax area methane
explosion now that an expert panel concluded that a Wilshire subway can be
built safely.
Please join the Westside Urban Forum, the Westside Economic Collaborative and our special guests as we discuss the future shape of our city with Rep. Waxman -- where will the funding come from to extend the Red Line to the sea? How will we best improve mobility for the entire region ? connecting with the Expo Line, LAX, and other major destinations?
