Defining Healthy Communities - Will Health Care Reform Re-Shape Our City?

Friday, January 21, 2011

As we face another year of economic uncertainty, cities large and small are struggling to make sense of how to get us back to being a "healthy" society. Will health care reform legislation lead to real changes in our community and where does land use intersect? What about the interest in highly specialized high-end care versus basic community health care? Are there enough beds to meet the needs of the underserved and the aging population? Is there a way to fund and build the facilities we need to make us healthy, viable and sustainable?

Join the Westside Urban Forum and our panel representing an academic-based health care system, the state’s largest health care foundation and one of the nation’s leading providers of health services as we explore the fascinating issues surrounding how to get and stay healthy.
