The Westside Urban Forum is pleased to honor two distinguished recipients for their extraordinary urban vision.
This year we honor Skid Row Housing Trust with the 2008 Westside Prize for expressing their vision of developing permanent supportive housing, which integrates housing development, property management and residential services into a cohesive effort to assist chronically homeless persons with disabilities. These projects not only respond to the human element but also make strong and important design statements in one of the most challenging neighborhoods in Los Angeles.
In addition, this year the Westside Urban Forum proudly presents the 2008 Westside Legacy Award to Wayne Ratkovich of The Ratkovich Company. Through innovation and a strong vision of what the City can be, The Ratkovich Company has continually been ahead of the curve in bringing a vibrant energy to iconic projects in the greater Los Angeles area. Whether adaptive reuse or new construction, these projects have set out to reinvent the fabric of the City around them through excellence in design and development.
